Christine "Chris" Florence Gessel Scott

Christine Florence Gessel Scott better known as Chris Scott returned to her heavenly home on October 3, 2023 at the age of 68. Just before passing she was given the beautiful gift to visit with so many family members and friends. Chris took time to bear her testimony to many who came.

Chris was Born May 18, 1955 in Logan Utah, the 2nd child born to Leo William Gessel and Margaret Marie Lund. Chris graduated from Logan High School 1973 and she also received her associates degree from Steven’s Henniger college in Hotel Management and Travel in 1999.

Chris grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings. Chris served in Cub scouts, Boy Scouts with earning her Award of Merit, Wood-badge and silver wolf. She was a wonderful single adult rep and enjoyed planning and attending the activities for the singles over 30. At the time of her passing she was a ward missionary. If you asked her what her favorite calling of all time was, you know she would say “serving in the nursery.” She loved teaching those little ones all about Jesus Christ and his love for them. Not to mention she had patience to help teach those sweet children how to sit and behave during lesson and singing time. Chris belonged to the DUP in Brigham City, Preston Idaho, and Logan Utah.

Chris’ hobbies were spending time with family and friends, camping up at the Ranch, traveling, and a good game of Pinochle or Hand and Foot. Chris was a social butterfly and loved having friends and family over for various gatherings. Serving in the temple with her mom was something she looked forward to weekly. You could find them both downstairs in the cafeteria helping ordinance workers and other patrons. That’s where she met Bill. She loved being creative. Each holiday you will find beautiful ceramics displayed that Chris painted herself. She loved strawberries and collected them throughout her life.

Chris was married previously and from that union came the lights of her life, Thomas Leo Moore and Richard Lynn Moore. She was sealed to her eternal sweetheart William (Bill) Scott on September 8, 2014 in the Logan Utah Temple. She was so glad she married Bill and from that union came more grandkids. She loved her grandkids and tried to support them in all their various activities. She was excited and proud to watch her oldest grandson leave on a mission to the Guatemala East Mission.

Chris is survived by her husband Bill Scott, children Thomas (Rachel) Moore and Richard Moore (Brandy), Allison (Tyler) Worf, David Scott (Phillip Guerrettaz), Steven Scott and 7 grandchildren: Tyler, Logan, Creighton, Autumn, Austin, Zachary, and Knox. She is survived by her sister Mary Roberts and brother Brian Gessel, sister-in-law Peggy George. We also want to include all honorary family members: Maren and Randall Harris and family as well as the Holly and Craig Cook family.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents and nephew Jacob Zollinger

The family would like to thank the various medical professionals who helped Chris get through this tough time especially those at the dialysis center in Logan who faithfully served her and Bill for 3 years and her “silver friend” Susan NewMeyer-Jeppson. We are so grateful for all who served Chris to the end.
