Carol Ann Fodor Bruce

Carol Ann Bruce, 81, passed away on August 6th, 2023, peacefully at her home in Richmond Utah of natural causes.

Carol was born on August 11th, 1941, in Long Beach, California the daughter of Joseph and Eva Fodor.

Carol married Richard Bruce on September 11th, 1965, in LA Habra, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland, California LDS Temple.

Carol spent a life serving others in many capacities. Her greatest passion was serving foster children, especially those who had disabilities and who had been born into challenging family situations. Over the years, Carol, and Richard, adopted two of these children, Adrienne, who enjoys living on her own in Coeur D Alene, Idaho, and Leone who was severely disabled and required total care. Leone peacefully passed away in 2015 at the age of 38.

Carol was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. Those she served at church will always fondly remember her kind gifts of special and thoughtful cards and gifts. If you were new to church or the community, Carol was the first to greet you with a smile or needed meal.

Carol loved serving in the community and had a special place for the Richmond Public library. Sharing the gift of books and reading with children and adults brought her joy. We all know that the true joy came from her desire to make a difference no matter what someone’s circumstances might be.

Carols love of the mountains, animals of all kinds, any place that had great Chinese food, and the gift of “gab” will never be forgotten. Those who have come to know her over the years will always remember how they were blessed by her love and caring heart.

Carol is survived by her husband, Ricard Bruce of Richmond, Utah, by a son and daughters, Jeff Bruce of Logan, Utah, Heather DeMartino of Bozeman, MT, and Adrienne Bruce of Coeur D Alene, ID; 6 grandchildren, Jeffry, Marcus, Eva, Mitchell, Dominic, and Bradley; 13 great-grandchildren, Kaden, Cavin, Stella, Claire, Cal, Twins Brandon and Sammy, Mabel, Ben, Leo, Hazel, Penelope, and newly arrived Josephine.

The family would like to thank all the thoughtful friends and neighbors of Richmond who Carol adored. Your friendship and love made a difference in the lives of our mother and father.

Carol will live on in our hearts as a beloved wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandmother. There is no doubt she was greeted by family, friends, and every special animal she cared for over the years when she returned to heaven. The world was a better place because of her.
