Boyd W Sears

Boyd W Sears was born in Preston, Idaho to Dean Clifton and Fern Wood Sears.  Boyd was raised in Clifton, Idaho where he worked on the family dairy farm and participated in church and school activities.

After he graduated Junior High, his family moved to Whitehall, MT where he and his family worked on the new family dairy farm.  While in his high school years, Boyd participated in church activities, school plays, various sporting events and graduated valedictorian of the 1962 high school class. After graduating, Boyd served in LDS South East Mexican mission from 1963 to 1965.

Upon completing his mission, he returned to Whitehall, MT where he met his wife Penny Lynn Weber. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple, January, Friday the 13th, 1967.  Boyd and Penny constructed their home and lived in Whitehall, MT until moving to Smithfield, UT in 1974.

Boyd enjoyed being in the outdoors, doing activities with his siblings, friends and his family.  They spent time hunting, fishing, camping and taking scenic drives and hikes.  Boyd enjoyed woodworking, coin collecting, games and puzzles. He loved Mexican culture, various music genres, sports on TV, especially rodeo. Often the family would vacation at Snowbird, UT as well as visiting relatives in Montana and participating in family reunions.

Boyd was an excellent provider for his family. He started his working career as a journeyman painter before beginning his 25 year employment at Pepperidge Farms in Richmond, UT where he ultimately retired as a supervisor.

Boyd has always had a strong testimony of his Savior, the Plan of Salvation and the Gospel.  Boyd enjoyed working in the Logan Temple baptistry.  Boyd and Penny served multiple church Spanish-speaking service missions. He and Penny taught their children the value of hard work, accountability, and the Gospel.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Penny Lynn, his daughter, Angela Rochelle Sickler (Hank), his sons, Michael Joseph (Kazumi), and Jonathan LeRoy (Nicole). As well as his beloved grandchildren Casey, Maia, Kiana, Derek, Ashley, Emily, James, Ryan, and MicKenzie.
