Anne Beckstead

Anne Bennett Beckstead, 86, passed away in Preston, Idaho on December 26, 2017.  She was born on June 14, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Leland William Bennett and Ada Leone Scoffield Bennett.

Anne spent her early years growing up on the Bennett farm in Kaysville, Utah.  When she was in the eighth grade, the family moved to a farm in Winder, Idaho.  She attended junior high and high school in Preston, Idaho.   She met her high school sweetheart, Linden Beckstead, during Seminary class at Preston High.

Linden and Anne were married on February 28, 1947.  They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on June 30, 1966.  They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last February.

Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.   She supported Linden in his various activities, whether it was farming, cattle buying, the auction, or the banking business. She worked at the auction in the office for many years.

Early in their marriage, Anne served in the Primary Presidency, and later served as Ward and Stake Young Women President and Ward Relief Society President.  She was a faithful servant in any calling she had in the church.

Lin and Anne served a mission in the Canada Halifax Nova Scotia Mission in 1993-1994 and later served two missions in Salt Lake City on Temple Square, a short term mission at the Hill Cumorah during the pageant in 2000, and a short term mission on Temple Square during the 2002 Winter Olympics.   Together they served as ordinance workers in the Logan Temple for many years.

Anne was best known for the love and kindness she showed to everyone she met.   Her most important accomplishment has been the support and love she has given to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She has always been an example of a loving and caring grandmother and is loved by her entire extended family.

Anne is survived by her husband, Linden, of Whitney, Idaho and children Sid (Pat) Beckstead, Bountiful, Utah; Kelly (Linda) Beckstead, Idaho Falls, Idaho;  Scott (Kristen) Beckstead, Preston, Idaho;  Jill (Robert) Ferguson, Kaysville, Utah; and Jan (Scott) Brenchley, Pocatello, Idaho.  She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by a sister Kaye (Ned) Klitgaard, of Woods Cross, UT; and two brothers Richard (Gail) Bennett, of Farmington, UT; and Bill (Paulette) Bennett, of South Ogden, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Leone Bennett.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at noon in the Whitney Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th East, Preston, Idaho and Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Beckstead, Home Health Nurses, Kathleen, Diane, and Kim, and the staff at the Franklin County Medical Center for their kind and tender care of Anne.
