Amy Lou Ford James

After a brief, but severe and complicated, battle with cancer, our Beloved and beautiful Wife, Mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Amy Lou Ford James, age 47, passed through the veil and returned to her Heavenly parents on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at her home in North Ogden, Utah.

She was born on April 19, 1976, in Bountiful, Utah.  She was a beautiful child with light blond curling hair and sparkling blue eyes.  She was always peaceful and happy and aware of others.  She had a loving and giving nature to share with everyone.  She grew up moving around the west with her family in Utah, California, Nevada, and Alaska.  She always loved being outdoors and learning new things.  An excellent student, she graduated High School in Lehi, Utah and went on to complete her degrees at BYU-I and the University of Utah.  She became a beautiful and elegant woman. 

Amy met and married Benjamin Lee James in the Bountiful Utah Temple in August 2003.  He is the son of Darrell and Lynette James of Utah.  They had just celebrated their 20^th wedding Anniversary. They shared a deep love for each other and their family.  Amy often complimented her sweet husband in their efforts for her to be able to stay at home with their children and be a homemaker.

Amy loved and exemplified service to her family, friends and community.  Highly creative, and an excellent teacher, she served in many callings in the Wards and branches of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where-ever she lived.  She loved the children and said her favorite calling was Nursery Leader.   

Ben and Amy have 5 beautiful and beloved children:  Ryan Christopher James who passed away in 2005; Patrick Grant James (17); Adelle Jessica James (17); Helen Abigail James (15); and Sarah Evelynn James (12).  She is survived by her parents Drew and JoAnn Ford of Preston, Idaho and 4 siblings:  Bethane Ford, Preston, Idaho; Andrea Sievers (Gary), Rockland, ID; Melissa Colvin (Darrell), Ankeney, IA; Jacob B. Ford (Emily), Eagle Mountain, UT; numerous nieces and nephews.   She is predeceased by their son Ryan.  Also mourning for her is Ben’s large family.  She truly loved her “in-law” family and considered them her own.

The whole family would like to express their grateful thanks to Dr. Nikil Moodabagul and Dr. Tae Kim for their wholehearted efforts in treating the cancer.  Also, many grateful thanks to the McKay-Dee Infusion Center, and all the wonderful nurses and staff who helped from McKay-Dee and LDS hospitals.  Also, thanks for the wonderful, patient and professional guidance of the staff at Webb Funeral Home, Preston, ID.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the North Ogden 3^rd Ward Chapel, 386 E. Elberta Dr., North Ogden, Utah with Bishop Courtlan Erickson conducting.
