Aldyth Ann Hales Stalder was born number seven in a family of eight children, on July 27th, 1937, to Heber Lee Hales Sr. and Lais Vernon. Her siblings Frances Mae Andersen, Weston Vernon Hales, Heber Lee Hales Jr., Lais Imogene Wilkinson, Clinton Dewitt Hales, Marjorie Daw Anderson and Dorthy Jane Mayhew.
She passed away peacefully with family December 1, 2025.
She married Henry Dee Stalder, September 21, 1955, in the Logan, Utah Temple. She was a homemaker for 46 years. Something she always wanted to be and loved it. In her younger years she was a telephone operator for about 5 years after graduation from high school. It was her favorite job. Other jobs she enjoyed was tending children for several years and tutoring adults and children in reading.
She grew up in Logan, Utah. She attended the Whittier School then Logan Junior High and graduating from Logan High School. She had a scholarship to go on to Utah State College, but her goal was to be a wife and mother.
She grew up in Logan, Utah. She later moved to Pocatello (Alameda), Idaho then to Chubbuck, Idaho, Whitney, Idaho and recently Preston, Idaho.
Ann loved being involved in the humanitarian efforts for the church. She made many baby quilts and donated them to different places of need. She had a fondest and a lifetime love of writing letters and notes to people she knew. This was something she was always thankful for because it made it possible for her hands to keep moving because she knew someday she would lose the ability to do so. Old age slowed her down but didn't keep her from doing what she enjoyed. She was big on Genealogy, journal keeping and life histories. She encouraged many to write their life histories and was successful in getting them to do so. She kept a journal to the very end, and if she was still with us, she would be encouraging you to write a life history today.
Ann is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She and Dee served all their lives in some capacity. They both taught Temple Preparation lessons for over 20 years and worked in the Baptistry (Logan Temple) later in life until Ann's health was a factor. Ann's favorite church job was teaching the Merrie Miss girls and 11 year old boys in Primary and also the Cub Scouts. Dee would tell his family and friends that teaching a primary class after Ann was the easiest job because Ann already had all the visual aids, handouts and helps for every primary class prepared and in large envelopes.
Dee and Ann have four children: Neil Todd, (Arimo), Russell Kevin, Denver, Colorado, Robyn Lais Esplin (Hyrum) and Katheryn Corinne Nelson, (Idaho Falls). They have 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
