Andrew Lee Barnes “Andy”, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and fellow officer, passed away December 12, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1973 in Logan, Utah the son of Leroy Dee and Terri Lee Barnes.
Andy loved to be busy, whether it was fishing, hunting, church callings, working on projects, or helping others. Andy had an impact on everyone who knew him through his selfless desire to serve. This gift for helping others was exemplified through his work as a member of the Cache County Search & Rescue, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, and most recently, the USU Police Department. More than anything else, Andy loved and adored his 3 children and the love of his life, his wife, Cathrine (Katie) Koch. Andy’s world revolved around them and he cherished every minute spent together as a family. Andy’s quick-wit, love for life and family, and his selfless service will be missed by many. Andy truly was loved by all who knew him.
